Jayce is searching the universe for his father Audric, a famous scientist. They are accompanied by the members of the Lightning League who need a special plant possessed by Jayce's father to fight Saw Boss. Saw Boss commands an army of plant warriors and is intent on taking over the universe. The lightning League is composed of their pilot Herc, the robot servant Oon, the plant-girl Flora, and the sorcerer Gillian. The Lightning League uses plant-based technology, while the minions of Saw Boss, the Monster Minds, are altered to be part plant themselves.
