Hej!
I remember I was watching this cartooon around 1992-93 every saturday or sunday morning on cartoon-network.
Could be the Conan, but surrely not the Conan the adventurer(1997).
Animation is similiar to He-man and Thundarr the barberian.
I remember the intro, where this guy comes to the rock with the sword and pull it out and looks to the sky. It's been 15 years so my memory is not perfect. Some things are messed up, I admit it.

I double checked the year
It sure sounds like your first suggestion...
Conan the Adventurer (93)
Conan the barbarian was pitted against an invading army of serpent men under the command of the wizard Wrath-amon. The evil wizard turned Conan's family into stone. He had to end the serpent men's invasion of Earth, and send them back to their own dimension. The only way to defeat the forces of Wrath-amon permantently, was to use weapons made of a magical metal from fallen meteors called star metal. Conan's sword was made of this metal, as well as his loyal steed's horseshoes. When the enemy snake men were struck down with his sword or any other weapon made from the magical metal ,they would simply vaporize and retreat to their home dimension

I have checked the Conan the adventurer, but it's not it.Nor is it
the Blackstar.
I have been thinking about the intro. Maybe this guy pulls the sword out of the ground, not out of the rock.

The warior is very barbarian looking like (clothes, almost sure he has long hair)
This intro is hapening somewhere in the mountains, there is a lot of caves and rocks. That is all i can remember.
It is definetly not anime!!

| There is a Conan the adventurer cartoon. However, it is hard to find it to buy, In fact if anyone knows where to find it please message me. The cartoon itself was with the star metal weapons that exposed the snake men and sent them to the abyss. Classic!
