This used to be shown on, The Children's Channel back in the 80s (before it changed the channel name to, TCC) in the UK

It was a program that had several shows in it, and they would only last around a minute or 2 per episode.

As the title would suggest, it was cartoons with no words spoken, apart from the odd mumble from the characters lol.

The cartoons were European, "Most likely Eastern European" and at the start of the show, the title would come flying in, like a circular motion with the words, "Stories without words"

Over the years, I have NEVER been able to find the show on any websites, and nothing has appeared on youtube.

Does anybody know where I can find it?? Thanks!!!

Being the 'John Dunne' mentioned in the above YouTube post, i thought it only fitting I replied!!!! Embarassed

Stories Without Words was, if fact, not a show in its own right. It was an 'umbrella term' that TCC used for the animation shorts, which they broadcast. Many of the shorts were 'imports' and came from all over Europe including France, Germany, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Russia, Ireland etc.

Some of the cartoons shown were dubbed, but most had no words at all (allowing for cheap imported cartoons that did not have a language barrier to UK Audiences)

Hence the title 'Stories without Words'.

I'm somewhat of a fan and spent a few years searching and tracking down as much information as I could.

As I say, some of the cartoons had never been shown on UK television prior and have never been shown since. Others were somewhat more acclaimed in their country of origin.

Check this one out : It's Hungarian.

My Pleasure. As I say, I spent years tracking down old TCC stuff. It's really rare! I have some screen shots but I don't think I can upload them directly on the site

You could use a free file hosting site like postimage.org and post them on this thread if you want. Smile

Everybody seems really friendly here Very Happy

Glad I was able to share my TCC knowledge. One of the advantages to 'googling' your own name!

I thought I was only one of a select few that even remembered what 'TCC' was! Is this a UK or US site?

I hope Aberdeenlad logs in again to see Wink

Technically, this is an international site but everything is in English. Aurora, who runs the site, is in the US.

MacGyver is my all time favorite TV show.

And glad to have you on the site, jaygon. There are members from all over the world on here and it's always cool to hear from people all over who appreciate the awesomeness of the 1980s cartoons. (and other cartoons too.)
Enjoy looking around on here. Have a great weekend and God bless. Cool Very Happy
