To clarify on this question- I don't know that the show ever specifically identified the exact country the character is from- but I do know at least the area that he's from- and while geographically you are pretty close- you're still not quite there.

Yay! Someone finally got this! Yes- it is Moki.
And I know this one was a pretty tough one as unfortunately, "The Greatest Adventure: Stories From The Bible" never really made it to the airwaves- but 13 episodes were released to VHS back in the mid-to-late '80s and were a staple for me in children's church and Sunday School, etc. This is definitely one of my favorite Bible cartoon series (of the various ones I've seen)- probably because of the whole time travel aspect of the show and the humor that Derek, Margo and Moki add- while still maintaining authenticity and reverence to The Holy Scriptures. Great introduction to famous accounts in The Bible for kids and Hanna Barbera did a wonderful job with the animation and voicework. I definitely recommend checking it out if you haven't seen it. You can probably find most episodes on Youtube nowadays, though the series is on DVD too.

I don't think of the Middle East as Asian. I think of it as Arabian._________________
