Hi all
Im trying to recall an animated film i watched as a kid.
I think it was mid to late 80s. It starred a talking meerkat and i think he had a jacket. I remember he had to leave his village and that there were some biker meerkats which caused him trouble.
I remember the opening theme tune had the words ...
Meerkats, Meerkats everywhere
Help eachother. Do your share.
I am beginning to think i am the only person in the world to have seen it.
Anyone able to help?

| About the only animated meerkat I can think of is Timon from Disney's "Timon & Pumbaa" cartoon, but I don't think that's what you're looking for.

No unfortunately not him.
Though googling meerkat cartoon only comes up with him or meerkat manor

| I remember this cartoon. Meerkats on dune buggys that had to kill scorpians as a rite of passage. It was on bbc1 on andy in the broom cupboard. Remenber loving it but don't ask me what's it called. need to see if i can dig up the video

| I'm struglling to find this one too. 'Scorpions are our favourite meal, take great care it stings for real *something something something* really dead, meerkats,meerkats everywhere, bom-bom bo-bombom'. God it's annoying as I've found every other old cartoon I've been after but now this one. Will let you know if I have any luck.

I've never heard of this, but a Google search turned up this unofficial site for The Broom Cupboard (BBC Children's):

The site owner appears to have extensive information on the show and its history - he may be the best source for leads for this.
His email (listed at the bottom of his site) is:
greg (at) the-broom-cupboard.co.uk (replace "(at)" with @, don't want to give this guy spam by posting this here).
You could try sending him an email to see if he knows what the name of the cartoon is, and maybe if he has or knows of any footage.
