I'm posting this message for someone on another board.

Hi, there is this Japanese tv series I saw back when I was little . I saw it in Ukraine. The title translation was "Space Kids" or "Cosmic Kids". There is a group of 4 or 5 little kids who accidently got into a space ship or something and they travel space to find way home or something like that.
There are also a couple non-human characters with them on the ship who are mischevious.

All the kids wear what looks like colorful spacesuits. One kid has horns, another mohawk shape thing on his head, another only one horn I think, and there is one girl.

Any idea what it is?

Thanks for the reply. It turns out that "Vifam" is not the right cartoon.

The person who made the request added more details:

"The show I am interested in looks a little more new. Also the art resembles the art of Astroboy, not as realistic as Vifam. There were also no Japanese signature looking robots.

"I know that the show must be at least semi-popular in Japan because one time I had a classmate who was a girl from Japan and she had a keychain with one of the characters as the keychain."

-A mohawk "thing" on his head
-One girl
-A horned one

It sort of sounds like the kid
version of Ultraman

Ultraman Kids:
30 Million Light Years Looking for Mama

View Opening
Ultraman Kids

I haven't found any episodes in
English yet but there are several
episodes on Tudou
Ultraman Kids Episode 1

Yes, that's the cartoon! Thank you very much Straydog, you are absolutely brilliant!

Say, you wouldn't happen to know any sites with info on the show, would you? I can only find very little about it. I've gathered that it was originally broadcast in 1991 and 1992 and that the Japanese title of it is ウルトラマンキッズ 母をたずねて3000万光年.

Apparently, this Wikipedia article is about the show:
http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%82%A6%E3%83%AB%E3%83%88%E3%83%A9%E3%83%9E%E3%83%B3%E3%82%AD%E3%83%83%E3%82%BA_%E6%AF%8D%E3%82%92%E3%81%9F%E3%81%9A%E3%81%AD%E3%81%A63000%E4%B8%87%E5%85%89%E5%B9%B4

Though it's not all that helpful since I can't read Japanese!

There's a brief explantion of the cartoon
here
http://urutoranohihi.blogspot.com/2007/10/anime-ultraman-kids.html

You could run the Wikipedia entry through a translator
for a rough translation.I just did, and it really doesn't say much. The
article only mentions air dates, channel info, episode titles, and cast but the
story/synopsis section is missing.
