So I've been trying to figure this one out for a long time...
I watched it in the 80s, I believe it was set mostly underground, it was an action adventure series, there were at least 3 primary characters a woman, a boy, and a man who I believe was in white and had the ability to fly and the plot was about them finding a lost city or escaping the underground...
ARG dang vague memories... oh and its defiantly not mysterious cities of gold... witch was the answer all my friends gave me....
I don't blame you if this sounds totally unfamiliar but I had to try

Sounds like you're
describing,...
Spartakus and the
Sun Beneath the Sea (85)
a.k.a. The Absorbed Worlds
a.k.a. Les Mondes engloutis
The mysterious subterranean world of Arkadia was in jeopardy, when it's
artificial sun began to fail. They had to send a heroic explorer out into the
crust to find a solution to save their land. The desperate people of Arkadia
used a long lost forbidden knowledge to create a special emissary named Arcana.
She would be their messenger.
A brother(Matt) and sister (Rebecca)from the suface world manage to get lost
and fall into a lost fault in the crust deep beneath the Earth. They were found
by Sparticus and Arkana in their living ship. I think Bac and Bic might have been
Arcadian pangolins. The kids join the journey while they look for a way home.
