I have always been really curious about the "free" prizes that came with the cereal boxes (specially those that were featured in cartoons. I don't think I have ever seen a cereal box with a prize inside in real life) and I wanted to know your experience with them.

I know that those were probably really cheap plastic toys, but maybe there was that one thing that absolutely delighted you. Please tell me about that Smile

It's rare to see cereal boxes still come with physical prizes inside...but in more recent years, I've enjoyed some promotional DC Comics' minicomics series that have been released in cereal boxes. I don't remember a ton of toys in cereal boxes from childhood, but yeah- mainly small plastic trinkets, like you said. Very Happy Cool

Those comics do sound like awesome prizes, though!

Thanks for the reply, Mac Smile

Back in the day, some Atari 2600 games came with a small comic book. Some like Yar's Revenge had the comic Yars' Revenge: The Qotile Ultimatum!, Centipede had a comic book, SwordQuest: EarthWorld, SwordQuest: FireWorld, and SwordQuest: WaterWorld had comic books, as well as Defender (with Atari Force #1), Berserk (with Atari Force #2), Star Raiders (with Atari Force #3), Phoenix (with Atari Force #4), and Galaxian (with Atari Force #5). I'm not sure about the Yars' Revenge comic but all the others were made by DC Comics because, at the time, DC Comics and Atari were both owned by Warner Communications. DC Comics is still owned by Warner but Atari was sold off long ago.

I knew about the Swordquest comics, but I didn't know that other Atari games had those as well. Sweet!
