Will someone please ban quizhen806907 or whatever it is called.
The forum is lacking already because of the bots and the Nile forum went the same way and is now gone.
I, and I'm sure others, don't want the same happening to this forum. |

| I know that there was some bot controls on phpbb3, not totally fool proof, but a bit better. |

Forget it. They can even breach the newest software... I don't know how any bot would get past the three-way captcha I have seen on some sites, but they did. A lot.

I've just cleaned off a lot of spam posts from the boards here and banned a number of ip addresses and user names. That seems to be about the extent that I can do at this point. I hope that helps keep the boards clean of spam at least for a while anyway.

Yes! That one (and the multiple ip addresses used with it) are banned- and that was a pain to clean out!
(There does not seem to be an option to simultaneously delete multiple posts from the same user- so if there is a situation where a spammer has posted a gazillion posts and it takes a while before it all gets cleared out- that is probably the reason.) I try not to let it linger too long as I see stuff come up- but I don't get to this site every day.
(Not trying to make excuses or puff myself up or anything- just wanted to make sure everyone understands what's involved.) Thanks again to everyone for patience and understanding.

Totally understandable.
The Nile forum was riddled with russian bots, posting porn on a daily basis, usually 100's of times a day, so I know the fight very well.
Another bot alert, beautygirl. Get banning away hehe. |
