Kit-Kataloon?

I'm so thrilled to have found this site! I am hoping someone can help me identify a cartoon or possibly just a story on a cassette tape. My 39yo son remembers: superheros or monsters, but not not the popular ones - more generic. The storyline involves these characters doing heroic things - saving the day, etc., in a variety of different worlds/places/time periods (?).

The one thing he remembers most is that these characters traveled in what he thinks he remembers being a hot air ballon-thing that was called a KIT KATALOON (phonetic)

I have no clue. Anyone? Thank you for any help you can give.

I watched several episodes of Teddy Ruxpen hoping to hear them call their flying macine a "Kit Kataloon" but alas, Gimmick only refers to his invention as an "air ship."

It was a nice trip down memory lane though. My kids born in 1976 and 1981) had a Teddy Ruxpen talking bear when they were small. Wish I had saved it for the five grandest-kids I have now!

Well, glad I could bring back some fun memories for you, but sorry if that wasn't it.
I actually just recently ran across a Teddy Ruxpin talking bear in an antique store- that was a blast from the past for me, as my cousin had one as a kid (along with Grubby) and I remember visiting and listening to Teddy and his friend Grubby tell me stories on their tape decks.
(And it was also fun to slip different cassettes into their tape decks and hear them sing rock and roll songs and such like that...lol)
