This one sounds like perhaps it's inspired by the band 3 Dog Night? Or maybe just the name was inspired by it.

Here's another entry for this list-

The Marx Bros. pilot [Filmation apparently had a planned Marx Bros. cartoon back in 1968. From what I understand, though the series was never picked up, a pilot episode does exist.] Check the link for a Youtube video of a clip from the pilot, as well as a link to a source for a DVD copy. Very Happy Cool

I remember game magazine advertisements back in the 1990's for Bubsy and Battletoads cartoons. Not sure they fit in here.

I do recall watching Hagar the Horrible. Was that supposed to be a pilot or a one time special?

I think Bubsy was indeed meant as a pilot, which didn't go anywhere.
Same deal with Battletoads.
And I think the Hagar the Horrible cartoon is just a one time 1989 special.

Regarding Starriors...

I feel pretty certain that no cartoon ever aired, anywhere. The only animation that ever aired was in the commercials.

According to the Starriors.com site, there was a 1984 trade advertisement from Tomy stating that a Starriors miniseries was in production and planned in air in the spring and fall of 1985.
I don't know if anything was ever actually produced though.
Wow- I haven't heard about Starriors in forever, but now that I see this here, they do seem familiar... (Of course, I can't tell if I actually remember them as a kid or if I've just read about them online in past years-lol.)

I do not remember Starriors.

When I think of Tomy it is those little pocket pinball machines from the late 1970's. I still have an ice hockey one around.

Ran across this at random on Youtube- apparently, it was meant as a pilot for an animated series that never happened.

The MAD Magazine TV Special from 1974.

(Note: If you're familiar with MAD Magazine, then you probably know that this special has some crude and "adult situations" moments.)

My memory of Starriors was a result of my younger brother (actually stepbrother, but I never called him that). When I first met him at age 4, Starriors were a line of toys he had recently picked up, and I played with them along with him. I thought the ability to swap parts between each other was pretty neat. Later, I owned the big red T-Rex robot... DeadEye I think was it's name. It was one of my favorite toys overall at the time.
