ALVIN!!! and the Chipmunks- coming to DVD! :-)

For anyone interested, there's a 2 disc DVD set of Alvin and the Chipmunks cartoons coming on September 9th.

This release is the episodes of the '80s cartoon I remember watching as a kid. It's possible it may have some episodes from the '60s original show- "The Alvin Show"- but I'm pretty sure it doesn't. It'd be nice to have this whole series out on DVD- I always loved watching Alvin and the Chipmunks and the later Alvin and the Chipmunks Go to the Movies series. Very Happy

Well- it looks like a lot of Alvin and the Chipmunks cartoons are coming to DVD in September. See here for a fully detailed list and cover art.

Look for Alvin and the Chipmunks Go to the Movies- Daytona Jones and the Pearl of Wisdom DVD release on September 9th. (Their parody of the Indiana Jones movies- I remember watching this one as a kid- really fun) Smile

(probably with some other episodes included as well, I'm sure)

On September 16th. we get a release called Alvin and the Chipmunks- The Alvinnn!!! Edition with 14 episodes from the '80s Alvin and the Chipmunks series!

And on September 23rd. an individual release of Alvin's Thanksgiving Celebration will hit DVD (along with a few bonus episodes of the '80s cartoon)
and then a holiday collection will come to DVD- featuring "Trick or Treason", "Alvin's Thanksgiving Celebration" and "A Chipmunk Christmas"

Looks like another release of episodes of the '80s Alvin and the Chipmunks cartoon will be coming out on DVD on January 13th.- and this one will focus on The Chipettes- (Brittany, Jeanette and Eleanor) the female counterparts of the boys. Cool! Very Happy

Incidentally, for fans of the Chipmunks- the original show from the 1960s- The Alvin Show- will also be getting 3 episodes released to DVD on Sept. 8th. as well! Smile

i used to watch them, but there was too much singing and dancing for my taste, because to me, that was a disruption of the story.

Well, the Chipmunks are a musical act when it comes down to it- I mean, that's how they started- so the show has to maintain that aspect for it to be true to their main claim to fame- which, of course, is singing songs with squeaky voices. Wink
