Lots and lots and lots of versions. The story is a fairy tale by Hans Christian Anderson

My bets would be on Timeless Tales The Steadfast Tin Soldier
http://www.amazon.com/Timeless-Tales-Steadfast-Tin-Soldier/dp/6302157501

I really like the story, its cute
This version is pretty

hmmm....so it will be hard to find the version which I watched in my childhood...

I remember only one scene...Ballerina had a white dress and was with tin soldier in ditch...they were in danger...were swimming in the water

Ok I haven't seen it in years but it used to be on RTÉ every Christmas and I loved it and it could be what you're looking for.

Care Bear Nutcracker Suite?
