Just thought I'd let all the Voltron fans out there know- if you weren't already aware- you should expect the Vehicle Force Voltron series to be assembling on DVD by late summer or early fall of this year.

Awesome loved that show. Always thought combining vehicles made more sense than lions. I'll be sure to pick it up when its out.

Also the combination commands made more sense for the Vehicle version.

Has anyone heard any more about the Voltron live action movie? I don't think I imagined hearing about one, then again I tend to manifest things that don't exist.

Everything points to it being based on the 5 Lions version. (I so wanted it to be based on the 15 vehicles version) But nothing concrete has been said about it.

I wonder how they are going to make that work. If its a Military operation I doubt they'd do a Lion design.

Thanks for the sites. It definitely will be interesting to see how this will be done. After how well the Transformers movie turned out, I have some hope. I hope they stick to the space explorers story and not try to make it an earth weapon. Not all movies are meant to be totally believable. That's my opinion.

Check it out for full details, as usual.
But basically, it looks the set is still coming to DVD September 30th, but it won't have the metal tins that the other releases have been in. Oh well- no biggie really, but might be a bit of a letdown for some fans.
But you get 18 episodes on Volume 6 and some extras like the Original Pilot, a "Lion VS Vehicle: The Fans Sound Off" featurette, trailers and more.
And for those interested in the Japanese anime show that pretty much inspired Voltron, known as "GoLion"- check out the link on the page above for another release of this anime series on DVD.

Looks like Collection 6 will be moved to releasing on December 23rd. and then Collection 7 will hopefully be out sometime by next January. Oh well- at least it's not too much of a delay.

Looks like you can have the complete '80s Voltron- Vehicle Force series on DVD pretty soon! "Voltron: Defender of the Universe- Collection 8: Sea Team" is scheduled to be released on March 31, 2009!

has anyone else here heard of a series based on a 3rd voltron? i remember seeing some toys based on that at Toys R Us here in Fresno, Calif.

what it was, as far as i remember, was a robot that had 6 arms, and it was charged with defending the middle universe. has anyone here seen it, if it was on tv in the US?

I don't remember watching it but I seem to remember reading something on the net about a 3rd Voltron series called gladiators or something?

Anyway there were 3 robots which were human shaped for lack of a better term and they combined to form one big robot.

Think they were alpha, beta and gamma.
